Capacity Development
Our capacity development interventions are tailored to empower and inform teachers; children, education stakeholders, agencies, and communities and strengthen the education systems to achieve educational outcomes.
Seeing that the education system relies on the skills, knowledge, motivation, attitudes, and behaviour of the people within it; we at the Dolly Children Foundation have initiated and designed programmes that would improve the quality of teaching and learning in schools.
1. The DCF Teachers Training Programmes
This is a quarterly initiative organized in collaboration with highly skilled and sought-after educators. It is designed to equip teachers to be effective and up-to-date with global standards.
We believe that teaching skills, updated regularly have a major influence on what and how children can learn, sharpen, and unleash their skills. Over 2500 teachers from public and low–income schools have been trained in DCF workshops.
See what teachers are saying about the DCF Teachers Training:
The programme was an impacting and life-changing one; from the beginning to the end, it was engaging. The approach used in facilitating made the sessions relatable. Also, the coaching session was mind-blowing and gave me a different orientation on restructuring, proper balancing, and positioning in educational development. In addition, reaching the unreached kids’ session was a bomb as I now look forward to playing my part in my community.

The Top Scalers is the mentorship programme arm of the foundation where mentorship platforms and activities are provided to engage young people. These enrichment interventions which are community-based are structured and targeted for children at risk at the grassroots to promote and enable them to develop resilience, independence and social skills.
Through this programme, over 8000 children have benefited from the monthly relationship with their mentors and this has reflected in building strong relationships, better academic performances and helping them navigate stressful and harsh living conditions.
A Special Note from A Special Child
Dear Dolly Children Foundation, I am now happier because of the great work your NGO is doing in my community. I will like to let you know that my older siblings and cousins stopped school after they finished Primary Six. I am 14 years old and have repeated Primary Two more than five times. Even though my mother is late, I have been told by people in my area to stop school because it looks like my destiny does not want me to go to school. Now, through the support of the big aunties and uncles in DCF, they have made me know that I can finish school and become great in life. One day, I want to be a teacher so that I can touch the lives of children just like DCF. So help me God
